dysfunction and heart disease. The Journal of the American College of
Cardiology has published studies that confirm that erectile dysfunction

states that Italian researchers found among 291 men with type 2
diabetes, those who also had ED had twice the risk of suffering a heart
attack or stroke over the next four years. At the start of the study,

new study from the University
of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) shows how the protective effect garlic

hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is produced from garlic compounds interacting
with red blood cells. H2S has the ability to relax the artery walls and
reducing blood pressure. The UAB researchers found this interaction
triggered red blood cells to release H2S, which then led to the relaxation of blood vessels. Fresh garlic
was used at a
concentration equal to eating two cloves a day. The new study is the
first to show garlic-derived polysulfides in the diet boost bodily H2S
production. In order to
maintain an erection the arteries need
to have an efficient blood flow. Erectile dysfunction indicates a
hardening of the arteries, which means it could be an early biomarker
of impending cardiovascular disease. This ability to
relax artery walls is needed in maintaining an erection and claims are
already being made that it has helped some in improving their erectile

dysfunction. Research shows men who both smoke and drink alcohol have
lower sperm counts than do men with either habit alone. Men who smoke
may have sperm that are disfigured and move less quickly than those who
do not smoke. Smoking can also damage DNA of your sperm.
A
study
published in the
European Journal of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation
reveals results in improvement in blood vessel function in only 30
minutes
after ingesting Green tea. Researchers assigned each person in a
14-person trial one of three beverage types: a cup of green tea, a
beverage with the same amount of caffeine as green tea or hot water.
Test subjects who drank Green tea experienced significantly increased
blood flow after 30 minutes. Neither the caffeinated drink or the hot
water produced measurable change. The increased blood flow indicates
that
the vessel has dilated or opened wider. This enlargement is due to the
endothelial cells improving function. Endothelial cells are essential
in the production of Nitric oxide. Apparantly the phytonutrients found
in Green tea producing the positive effect.
Eating
foods made with
refined flours and sugars has created a diabetes problem that is out of
control. Add on the lack of exercise and there is no question as to the
problem. When we have high blood sugar (glucose) and do not use it
immediately for energy, our body converts it to fat and stores it in
our fat cells, usually the ones located around our stomachs. We need to
either eat less refined flours and sugars OR start getting more
exercise to burn off all that extra blood sugar. Eating things all day
long that jack up your blood sugar levels is a sure way to being fat
