Eating to avoid aging has come a long way over the years as science unlocks nutritional secrets to longevity and anti-aging. Research has shown that there is a relationship between the type of diet and health levels as you age. There are many foods high in anti-aging nutrients that slow aging mentally and physically. In order to stay healthy for a longer period of your life, you need to eat the right foods to provide your body with the energy and nutrition to fight aging and its associated signs.

 Certain types of food contain a substance known as phytonutrients. These phyto-nutrients  are believed to hold the key to unlocking the secret of healthy aging and longevity. Phytonuntrients (antioxidants) help rid the body of ‘free radicals’, a type of particle that is extremely damaging to the body and plays a part in diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer’s. As we get older, the body loses its natural ability to fight off free radicals, and we must make use of high antioxidant foods or supplements to help our body get rid of harmful free radicals so that we may stay healthy longer.

 You should eat omega-3 fatty acids in some form every day. Omega 3 fatty acids are a powerful anti-inflammatory that is highly beneficial for your health. It is estimated that Americans eat ten to twenty times more Omega-6 fatty acids than Omega-3. This is not healthy as you should eat a balance of the two fatty acids and some Nutritionist have recommended that we should eat slightly more Omega-3. You can get a healthy supply of Omega-3 fatty acids by eating olive oil, walnuts, salmon and Flaxseed. Walnuts are highly recommended as you can eat them by the handful and be done with it. Or maybe you like Grilled Salmon. Olive oil is convenient because you can take it by the spoonful or add it liberally to your food. Flaxseeds must be milled or ground because your body cannot digest them whole. They will go right through you undigested!

 Hydration plays a very important roll in turning back time. Water is needed by the body more than food and you would die quicker without water than if you went without food. You should remember to drink plenty of water every day as it is absolutely essential for hydration of your skin, muscles, and all the other cells of your body. Cellular dehydration is a constant problem for overweight and diabetic people. It has also been associated with people that have High blood pressure. Without water, dehydration would set in and your body would be unable to repair and replenish itself, and you would succumb to the signs of aging much faster than you would if you drank sufficient water each day.

Alkaline Avocado and Garlic salad


1 avocado
3 garlic cloves
3 tomatoes
1 red pepper bell
2 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil
sea salt to taste
1 pinch of cayenne pepper


Cut the peeled avocado and the pepper bell first in half and then in thin slices. Chop the tomatoes in cubes and put everything in a medium-sized bowl. Then chop garlic in very fine pieces and also put it into the bowl. Pour over the olive oil, mix well and taste with salt and pepper.

 When the body pH is out of balance it may respond with signs of someone beginning to age rapidly: stomach upset, indigestion, confusion, anger, irritability, food sensitivity, allergic reactions, recurrent infections; fatigue or depression, etc. Even aging signs such as unexplained rash, acne, dark circles under eyes, cracked skin and nails, brittle hair and excess weight show that one’s body is dealing with an imbalance and the look of one becoming old begins to appear. For example, the body produces fat to protect its vital organs from the damaging effects of acid. When one improves the diet with fresh, raw, alkaline foods, providing the nutrients essential to balance and strength, the body naturally repairs itself and comes into balance, achieving optimal weight on its own. Eating a diet high in alkaline foods melts away excess body fat and toxins and can be accelerated by including green juice smmoothies on a daily basis.

 The more alkaline foods you add to your diet, the better the results will be for you. You should not completely avoid acidic foods. Eating some acidic foods are is acceptable as you can eat about 25% to 35% of your food as acid foods. Remember that every little step to a more alkaline diet is the best and most effective way to optimize your health. Eat a diet High in Alkaline foods for Good Health!
